Hello, my name is Pete, and I want to share a bit of my journey with you. Like many others, I was a Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery selectee, and my excitement was beyond words when I found out. The possibilities, the dreams, and the hope of a better future in the United States were all within reach. However, my journey didn’t go as planned.

I was selected for the DV Lottery for DV 2024. As the year progressed, my anticipation grew, but reality soon set in. My case number became current in the very last month of the DV fiscal year September 2024, which meant I was in a race against time. Unfortunately, my case number was too high, and despite my hopes, I couldn’t secure a visa interview in time.

As a Data Analyst, I’m trained to analyze data and anticipate outcomes, but even with my background, I found the DV Lottery process to be complex and overwhelming. Looking back, I realize that if I had understood the process better, I might have explored different options to improve my chances. For instance, being more informed about the timing and the various steps involved in the process could have helped me make more strategic decisions, such as considering a visit to the United States within the legal limits of my B1/B2 visa. It’s a lesson learned too late, but one that I hope others can benefit from by being better prepared.

This experience inspired me to create VisaStat, a platform dedicated to helping others navigate the complexities of the DV Lottery process and other visa opportunities. My goal is to ensure that no one else misses out on their chance at a new beginning because of a lack of information or understanding.

I hope VisaStat can be a resource for you, whether you’re a fellow DV Lottery selectee or someone exploring other visa options. If you’ve found the information and resources here helpful, I kindly ask you to consider supporting our efforts. Your contributions will help keep VisaStat alive and updated, allowing us to cover technology costs and dedicate time to ensuring that the content remains accurate and valuable. Donate here.

Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference and helps us continue providing this service to those who need it most. Thank you for being here, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my story with you.

Sincerely,

Pete
